The Great Reset
We have begun hearing the term “The Great Reset” for some time. This is the name for the 50th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. The goal is to “reset and reshape” the world to more align with the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
In summary, as with anything the government and elite set forth, it is about control and reshaping the way humanity thinks while allowing them more control and wealth. However, the problem with our world is not carbon emissions, economics, and our industrial revolution. The problem is a society which has adamantly rejected God and His Word. This is what will lead to the “Ultimate Reset”.
When we look at the world’s past, we find there has already been a Great Reset. We find this Great Reset in Genesis 6. In verse 5-8, we see God regrets He created humanity for their “imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Vs. 5). God determined He would “destroy man whom” He created on the earth. However, Noah Found grace in the eyes of the Lord (Vs. 8). Meaning, God gave Noah the plans of escaping this “Great Reset”.
What caused God to reset the entire earth? The sin of humanity. Did humanity learn their lesson? Obviously, the answer is no. Throughout history we find great moral short falls and a consistent movement away from God. Even today, we see an uptick in immoral activities and evil. In fact, many try to claim this as good. This will lead to what we shall term the “Ultimate Reset”.
In II Peter 3, we find the writer reminding his audience in the last days there will be people walking after their own desires, saying where is return of the Lord? He then states God will keep His promise but is delaying His return as it is His will for people to come to repentance.
However, the writer then states the “Ultimate Reset” will take place:
II Peter 3:10-12
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
This is the “Ultimate Reset” when the Lord returns with judgment. However, just as Noah was given the plan of salvation for the “Great Reset”, the flood, so too are we given the plan of salvation for the “Ultimate Reset”, fiery judgment. It is up to us to be obedient to the plan God has provided as a way of escape.
