Overpopulation
Recently, in our local paper, a gentleman wrote in and stated the world is overpopulated. His point was the world, at its present population (8 billion), is unsustainable. He stated scientists, politicians and experts agree climate change, world hunger, dwindling natural resources and other issues are due to the large population.
We all have probably heard some “expert” stating the world is overpopulated and at the rate we are going it will not be sustained. However, as one of our previous posts pointed out, the logic here is against the word of God.
Genesis 1:28
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 9:1
And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
When God created Adam and Eve, He told them to “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth…” Even after the flood, in which God destroyed all of humanity but Noah and his family, we find God again stating to “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.” It was God’s intention to fill the world with His creation.
However, we are hearing the cries of the experts saying – don’t be fruitful, don’t multiply, don’t replenish the earth. Why is this? Is there a problem with overpopulation? Why are they saying the exact opposite of God’s word?
Revelation 13:2-4
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
In the book of Revelation, we are told of the formation of a government (the beast) which will try and rule the earth. This is commonly referred to as the “one world government”. In Revelation 13 it states Germany, Great Britain, Russia will be a part of this one world government. The interesting tidbit in these verses is verse 4 which states “the dragon which gave power unto the beast”. The dragon is in reference to satan. Should we be surprised as we get closer to the return of Jesus Christ and the formation of a government which is influenced by satan that we hear things which are contrary to the Word of God?
In these last days, it is imperative we listen to what our Lord Jesus said in Mark 13:5 “…Take heed, lest any man deceive you.” Let’s dig into the Word of God and be on guard for any philosophy or movement which is contrary to the Word of God.
