If they celebrate his death, will they celebrate yours?

In our fellowship, we have been studying the book of Revelation.  I was looking into chapter 11 and was focused on the two witnesses whom God will have in the last three and a half years.

Revelation 11:7-11

And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

As I read verse ten, I thought how odd it would be to celebrate the death of someone.  It was at this moment I got notice that Charlie Kirk was shot at an event.  Now, I did not follow Charlie Kirk.  I have seen a few videos where he debated people on issues of transgenderism and abortion.  As for his political views, I have not seen or read any of these.  I would say though, based on the few items I saw, his views on abortion and transgenderism were in line with what the Bible says.

It was a few hours later I heard the news saying Charlie Kirk had passed away.  In being a follower of Christ, it is sad when you hear of anyone passing away, especially when it comes at the act of violence.  Yet, what I’ve seen and heard in the days following, helped me to better understand the scripture in revelation stating people rejoice over the two witnesses being killed.

I have seen videos of a young man with a mega horn leading people in a chant, cheering the death of Charlie Kirk.  There is also video of others disrupting a vigil in Kirk’s honor and many other dancing and cheering the death of Charlie Kirk.

What kind of sick, twisted and demented person would rejoice over the death of another human being?  As I thought on this, the following scripture came to mind.

John 3:19-20

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

There are people who love their sin, more than they love God. When you love your sin, you live in darkness.  You don’t understand all humanity is created in God’s image.  This is why we see people rejoicing in someone’s death; they are living in darkness.

This is why people will rejoice when God’s two witnesses are killed.  For the two-witness preached God’s truth, the light of God’s Word.  They don’t want to hear light, for they want to stay in their darkness.

This brings me back to the title of this.  If I hold Biblical views on marriage, life and gender, as it appears Charlie Kirk did.  Would they rejoice my death as they are rejoicing his?
